Smoke-free Legislation and Hospitalizations for Childhood Asthma

This study proves that comprehensive legislation to protect non-smokers from the harmful effects of secondhand smoke has additional benefits on asthma in children. This kind of data should prove useful to unite forces to support smoke-free legislation worldwide. Traditionally, advocates and professional healthcare organizations (e.g. Heart, Lung, and Cancer Associations) tend to work isolated. However, data as presented in this study coupled with data yielding similar results in heart disease and lung cancer should aid in bringing advocates together to work around the same topic
